Perhaps you are building a new house. Awesome! Before moving in, you’ll need to install your laundry system to live happily in your new home. But unfortunately, a dryer isn’t plug-in and go. There needs to be space built into your house that allows the dryer to exhaust heat and air to the outside of the home. This is why you’ll need to install a dryer vent.
Installing a dryer vent isn’t like installing other ducts. This is because high temperatures are passing through the dryer duct, which means that specific regulations have been implemented in order to ensure the safety of individuals just like you. For instance, did you know that a dryer vent’s exterior exit must be at least a foot off the ground? There are many other little specifications that must be met when installing a dryer vent, which make the successful installation of a dryer vent much harder.
On top of all this, the installer needs to have experience contracting as well, as installing a duct inside a house isn’t as easy as it might sound. Getting a duct from your laundry room to the outside of your house means you’ll have to cut through sheetrock, wind through studs, cut through siding, and much more, all while making sure not to violate any of the aforementioned regulations.
